The Houston Museum of Natural Science (HMNS) is now offering an assistive technology app to improve accessibility for vision-impaired visitors.

Why it matters: A lot of assistive tools for vision-impaired people rely on audio or touch, but ReBokeh Vision Technologies allows users to experience and engage with the exhibits visually through its mobile app, ReBokeh founder Rebecca Rosenberg tells Axios.

How it works: Visitors can download the free ReBokeh app on their devices. The app adds overlay filters on a live camera feed, making details clearer for those with low vision. Features include zoom, enhanced lighting and contrast adjustments.
